Virtual Reality in den eigenen vier Wänden ist toll. Doch die Wenigsten haben vermutlich einen so großen Raum, dass die Angst vor einer Kollision komplett ausgeblendet werden kann. Ist dies in der freien Natur anders? Ich bin mit meiner Oculus Quest 2 in den Park gegangen und habe es ausprobiert.
Virtual Reality im Park mit der Oculus Quest 2
Das Spielen von VR-Spielen in der freien Natur ist ein tolles Gefühl. Das Tracking der Oculus Quest 2 und der Controller funktioniert gut. Ihr solltet jedoch darauf achten, dass ihr nicht im direkten Sonnenlicht spielt, sondern euch eine schattige Ecke sucht. Zudem sollte der Untergrund nicht reflektieren (Schnee, Wasser, Eis).
Da ich mich daran gewöhnt habe, nicht selbst durch die virtuellen Welten zu laufen, war das neue Gefühl zuerst ungewohnt. Schnell überwog aber die Freude an der neuen Freiheit, denn ich bekam nie eine Grenze angezeigt und konnte mich somit noch besser im Spiel verlieren. Doch ich habe einen Fehler gemacht, der den Spaß etwas trübte: Da ich alleine im Park war, war ich auch etwas nervös, ob meine Sachen sicher sind, die am Wegrand lagen. Man sollte also im besten Falle gemeinsam mit Freunden oder Freundinnen unterwegs sein.
Das Gefühl, dass ich etwas seltsames in der Öffentlichkeit tue, konnte ich nicht abschütteln. Es war mir unangenehm, obwohl ich seit Jahren mit der Technologie arbeite. Dieses Gefühl wurde aber ebenso durch den Umstand verstärkt, dass ich alleine im Park war. Tatsächlich glaube ich aber, dass sich niemand für mich interessiert hat.
Generell hat mir die Erfahrung viel Freude bereitet und ich plane bereits meine nächste Session im Park. Beim nächsten Versuch werde ich aber definitiv darauf achten, nicht alleine zu sein.
