Es wird zur Auslieferung der Rift nur möglich sein, die Oculus Software und die downloadbaren Inhalte auf der C Festplatte zu installieren. Oculus will dieses Problem in den nächsten 2-3 Wochen beheben und bietet bis dahin einen inoffiziellen Workaround an, welcher aber zu weiteren Problemen führen kann.
Oculus Software auf anderen Festplatten installieren
Wichtig ist, dass ihr euch im Klaren seid, dass es nach dem Release des Updates von Oculus keine Möglichkeit gibt das Ganze wieder sauber rückgängig zu machen. Außerdem wird das herkömmliche Deinstallieren und Reparieren der Software nicht mehr möglich sein.
Was braucht ihr an Voraussetzungen:
- NTFS Dateisystem.
- Es darf kein Netzwerklaufwerk sein.
- Es darf keine externe Festplatte sein.
- Der Laufwerksbuchstabe darf nicht wechseln.
- Mindestens 1,2 GB müssen auf der Festplatte frei sein.
So geht ihr vor:
- Installiert Oculus mit der OculusSetup.exe (Ab Montag verfügbar)
- Startet die Eingabeaufforderung als Administrator (Windows 8&10 -> Windows-Taste + X -> auswählen || Windows 7 -> Start -> Programme -> Zubehör -> Eingabeaufforderung / CMD -> Rechte Maustaste -> Als Administrator ausführen)
- Oculus VR Runtime ausschalten (Schreibe net stop OVRService in die Eingabeaufforderung)
- Ihr müsst nun per xcopy den Oculus Ordner auf die gewünschte Festplatte kopieren (In die Eingabeaufforderung: xcopy “C:\Program Files (x86)\Oculus” E:\Oculus\ /O /X /E /H /K)
- Löscht den Ordner C:\Program Files (x86)\Oculus
- Nun verlinkt ihr die alte und die neue Position (In die Eingabeaufforderung: mklink /d “C:\Program Files (x86)\Oculus” E:\Oculus)
- Startet den Oculus VR Runtime Service neu (In die Eingabeaufforderung: net start OVRService)
